What You'll Build
Intelligence Report Interface
- Display agent findings with inline citations to USPTO file wrappers and court dockets
- Build Deep Link architecture that connects every assertion to exact page/line numbers in source PDFs
- Develop PDF rendering systems that handle 500+ page documents with millisecond response times
- Implement annotation tools that let legal teams highlight and comment on findings
- Export functionality that packages intelligence for use in briefs and expert declarations
Permissioned Workspace
- Multi-tenant architecture where law firms manage confidential matter files
- Granular permission system (plaintiff counsel, defense counsel, in-house, experts all have different access)
- Audit logs that track who viewed what, when (required for legal privilege)
- Secure file sharing with external counsel and experts
Data Visualization
- Timeline interfaces for prosecution history amendments
- Network graphs showing patent family relationships
- Examiner search reconstruction visualizations
- Claim construction heat maps across judges and courts
Search & Discovery
- Faceted search across millions of patents, cases, parties, and judges
- Filter interfaces for complex queries (e.g., "Show patents by Company X invalidated before Judge Y")
- Saved searches and custom dashboards
- Real-time updates when new intelligence becomes available
Requirements
- 5+ years building production web applications
- Expert-level proficiency with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- Strong backend development skills with Python (FastAPI) or Node.js
- Experience with RESTful APIs and database design (PostgreSQL, Azure SQL)
- You care about performance (rendering large datasets/PDFs) and UX detail
- Track record of shipping features that users love
Bonus
- Experience building document-heavy applications (legal, medical, financial)
- Background in PDF rendering, annotation, and citation systems
- Familiarity with real-time collaboration features (WebSocket, CRDT)
- Understanding of data visualization libraries (D3.js, Recharts, etc.)
- Prior work with multi-tenant SaaS platforms
- Design sensibility (you care about UX, not just functionality)
Compensation
- Base salary: $150,000 - $200,000 (based on experience)
